Finale

One for the road, Roti Chanai, Fettes Park.

Then lunch at Yee Heong, Campbell Street. One of our favourite restaurant.

Chicken wings marinated in Chinese wine, and deep fried. Very 'phang'

Brinjal with sambal

'Hung tou cha sang meen'

The shop's special tofu .

And then on the way to airport , it was ban chang kueh again, also Mary's favourite.

Just as I heave a sigh of relief, thinking I will be taking a break from all this eating, I got an email from Suan Gaik, a friend also from Melbourne, that she'll arriving on Friday. OH No!!! HELLLLP..!

Apom Berkuah

How timely, for Alan to get to eat this Apom Berkuah also known as apom bokwa. This is specially made by a certain Datin sold at RM10 for 10 pcs and all proceeds go to charity. But she is not so charitable with the recipe. She's NOT sharing it. Nevertheless, it's the best !

Service with an attitude

This is one dim sum outlet we are NOT recommending. Food is average but the service is YIKES! DOWNRIGHT RUDE when they're not ignoring you. So you know, the restaurant is at Macalister Road, directly opposite Jalan Zainal Abidin (previously known as Yahudi Road). At night, it's the eat-all-you-can steamboat outlet.

Unique Food

????

Like girl meets boy? Hmmm...

Wednesday - Lunch plus plus

This is our 2nd visit to this nasi Melayu at Ratu Mutiara - the 1st stall as you go in.
Fried Chicken

Ikan Terubok - abt RM25

Sotong kembang

Sambal Brinjal

Ulam - yummy sambal

What's this? Black chicken? hee hee

Then as we came down from Tanjung Bungah, we stopped at the old bus terminal to buy goreng pisang, gorent ubi, etc. I thought this was for tea-time. Turned out to be dessert after the nasi melayu. OMG

goreng pisang & 'tee kueh' with yam & sweet potato

Tea-time was at Padang
Chendol

Ice kacang

"Chneh hu'

'Oh Chien' (Oyster Omellete)

'Ban chang Kueh' with banana. This is recommended, at least no long queue like the one in front of Swee Kong, at Pulau Tikus. Yummilicious!

Shopping

Tau Sar Pneah - A must-buy when you're in Penang. Also known as Tambun Pneah. Now there are also variations - with all sorts of filling.

And then a visit to the original tau sar pneah shop - Ghee Hiang. We prefer Ghee Hiang rather then Him Heang.

Tuesday - Oh Boy!

Breakfast - Koay Teow Th'ng, finally. At Malay Street.

Duck meat & 'cheong'. I normally don't eat duck meat, but this one is an exception. Unfortunately , we were late (someone couldn't get up early enough), so no more 'ark cheong' , which has a crunchy texture.

Of course, must have coffee -' kopi or mai leow'

'Ho liau'

Is it lunch time already?
'Chit teow lor' Curry mee - claims to be same as the one in Chulia Street except got 'hueh'

Lor Bak - this stall, previously from Church Street.

'Char Koay Teow' - got 'wok hei' - better & cheaper then Mdm Goggles at Lorong Selamat.

Pasembor or colloquially called Pasambut, also known as 'Chneh Hu', but no got 'chneh hu'. This is one of the best, if not the best in Penang.

Jawa mee - also 'chut miah'

Nyonya Kueh, Seems to me Mary must have her daily dose of nyonya kueh.
